So what exactly is sublimation?

A quick online search tells us the following;

“Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state, without passing through the liquid state.”

Sounds simple right?! Well, it’s a lot more simple than it seems and the possibilities for customised products are endless.

In more simple terms what happens when you sublimate an item is that the sublimation ink on the printed paper heats into a gas and transfers over to the product in around 50 seconds of high temperature heat pressing, and voilà! You have a photo quality print on another item ready to impress your customers.

How do I get started?

To start a sublimation business you need relatively few items;

• Sublimation ready printer.
• Sublimation paper.
• Sublimation product.
• Heat press.

Once you have these basics, you are ready to take your first step into sublimation printing.
